Herb Garden Out of Control

This is what happens when I work and don't tend to anything. Oy vey, the overgrowth! Beth tells me to rip out the parsley and start over. The dill already died and had to be ripped out. But I love that I have the most oregano, mint, and thyme (not pictured), I could ever hope for, so I don't want to cut it down, even though everyone on the planet says to prune.

Gardeners, any herb taming tips?

Spring has sprung, and I'm ready to consider planting vegetables other than my mandatory tomatoes. I love being able to eat homegrown tomatoes, lemons, limes, oranges, and herbs from the yard, and I'm wondering what would be good additions to our makeshift micro-farm.

Gardeners, what types of veggies to you like to plant in your garden?

my favorite and my best said...

hey! with herbs you DO need to prune if only because the older herbs taste bitter. plus pruning will help them grow more. a little compost after you prune isn't a bad idea either.
easy to grow veggies are zucchini, squash, eggplant and potatoes. although in cali i imagine anything is possible and easy. i would have a garden just for lettuces too. there is so much to choose from. oooh! i want to grow shallots too!! basically all i need on hand for a delicious salad!
